February 2011 - Submission to application relating to the establishment of a 60 site campervan park on the Matauwhi Wharf Ltd site.The elevated nature of the site and its location at the entry to Russell means that it is highly visible from parts of Matauwhi Bay, Kororareka Bay, Matauwhi Bay Rd, Florance Ave, Brind Rd and Pomare Rd, as well as further afield from Te Wahapu and Paihia.

The hearing was held on 29 September 2008 in Paihia.
Many individuals and Bay of Islands Community Groups spoke out against the size of the proposal.

We have been informed that the Far North District Council is processing an application for a redevelopment of Hananui Lodge Motel opposite the Russell Town Hall. We understand the the FNDC planing department is currently assessing the application to determine how to proceed in terms of notification.
The proposal is for a 3 storey, 21 unit apartment complex which would double the current capacity and increase the size of the existing building considerably.

Proposed Plan Change No 4 to the Regional Coastal Plan for Northland: Submission to the NRC on the proposed private plan change No 4 relating to Aquaculture Management Areas. This is currently being processed and was scheduled for hearings in November 07.

Bay of Islands Community Wastewater Scheme: Application for Resource Consent for the proposed Mega-Sewerage Scheme. The Far North District Council has applied for Resource Consent to build an enormous sewerage treatment plant at the Waitangi wetlands to discharge all of the Bay of Islands sewage, including Russell's into the wetlands.
